Open Position for Research Scientist

Reports to Director Algorithm Development

Location: Dresden, Germany

The research scientist will develop and analyze algorithms for face
recognition and related tasks.  He/she will also be involved in
integrating those algorithms into our product software.

The research scientist will be afforded the opportunity to work on
intriguing technical challenges and to become part of a
well-established and collegial team which is looking forward to
welcoming the new member.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

·      Develop and analyze appropriate image processing and pattern
       recognition algorithms and their mathematical basis

·      Conduct experiments to further investigate and optimize the
       algorithms

·      Maintain and extend our software environment for experimentation and
       data analysis

·      In collaboration with our software development team, transfer
       algorithmic improvements to our product code base.

·      Provide knowledgeable technical support to customers and the
       customer services team

Required Skills and Experience

·      Master degree (or equivalent) in science or engineering
·      Sound knowledge of statistical pattern recognition and linear algebra
·      Basic knowledge of digital image processing
·      Several years of experience in Unix and object-oriented programming
·      English fluent in speech and writing

Further Desired Skills and Experience

·      Knowledge of recognition of objects in images (or even knowledge of
       face recognition)
·      Advanced knowledge of digital image processing
·      Experience in numerical optimization
·      Experience in experiment design and analysis
·      Sound knowledge of statistical modelling and analysis
·      Experience in C++ programming
