Alfredo Herrera Hernandez
Alfredo Herrera has been the leading person in design and development of the facial recognition system FaceVACS. As a Principal Software Engineer at Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH, he participated in the development of neurocomputer software, OCR algorithms and, since 1995, facial recognition. Starting January 1998, as head of the biometrics development team at plettac electronics security GmbH, he was responsible for the ongoing development of the FaceVACS technology. On this basis he founded Cognitec in May 2002.

Dr. Juergen Pampus
Dr. Juergen Pampus held positions as a team leader and consultant at Control Data Corp., then joined Siemens AG and Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems AG where he was responsible for international sales co-ordination in the Scientific Computing department. Here one of his successes was the market introduction and sales of neurocomputing products. At Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH, he started up the biometrics department, starting from 1995. From January 1998, he was a sales director for biometric systems at plettac electronic security GmbH. He is a co-founder of Cognitec.

Dr. Juergen Richter
Dr. Juergen Richter started his professional career as a Scientific Assistant at the Technical University of Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz). From 1988 to 1996 he worked at the Klinikum Chemnitz GmbH hospital, where he was responsible for software development for radiation planning in the field of radio-oncology. In 1996, he joined the FaceVACS development team at Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH as a Senior Software Engineer (since 1998 plettac electronic security GmbH). He is a co-founder of Cognitec.
Director Algorithm Development
Frank Weber
Frank Weber has been one of the main developers of those algorithms forming the core of the facial recognition system FaceVACS. At GMD National Research Center for Information Technology, he worked in the field of artificial neural networks, applied to control tasks and optimal design of experiments. In 1996, he joined Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH and started working on the development of facial recognition algorithms. This work was continued when the team moved to plettac electronic security GmbH in January 1998. He is a co-founder of Cognitec.

Volker Kempert
Volker Kempert started his professional career in 1992 as software developer and project leader at BIK GmbH. He held several positions in software development, operation management and technology consulting at Deutsche Bank AG from 1995 to 1999. At Intershop SWE GmbH he was responsible for the product development and successfully released several products. In February 2003, he joined Cognitec Systems GmbH as Product Manager and has been driving Cognitec's FaceVACS product line since then.

Michael Müller
Michael Müller started his career in software development at the Dresden Frauenhofer Gesellschaft, Institute for Integrated Circuits. In 1995 he joined Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH where he was working on the development of FaceVACS and was one of the main software architects and developers. He is a co-founder of Cognitec.

Stefan Christ
In the 90s Stefan Christ worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the field of Electrical Engineering, as a Project Manager and Teacher in a training program sponsored by The European Social Fund (ESF) as well as a Scientific Assistant helping to build up an International Transfer Centre for Environmental Technology (KNOTEN WEIMAR). He held several positions in software development at Intershop SWE GmbH (e-commerce industries) and worked as a Software Development Manager. In 2003 Stefan joined Cognitec Systems GmbH. At present he holds the position of the Director of Customer Service and is responsible for customer service and project management of customer projects.

Felipe Rodriguez
Felipe Rodriguez, President and Cofounder of Cognitec Systems Corporation (USA). He started his professional career holding several positions with Pan American Airways throughout the World until he was appointed Vice-President/Latin America responsible for all Marketing/Sales activities. In 1974 he joined the Glovo Tv Network creating and founding its USA operations as a President until his retirement in 2003, when he joined Cognitec Systems.

Roger Kelesoglu
Roger Kelesoglu, joined Cognitec Systems Corporation in 2003 as Business Development Executive for North America, Canada and Mexico.
He brings to Cognitec Systems his lifelong experience working for several high tech Fortune 500 companies in various business management positions at Unisys, Hewlett Packard, Polaroid and Viisage in USA & global markets. Mr. Kelesoglu also speaks several foreign languages and has held management positions in Europe, Latin America, Far East and Middle East.

Marcos Flohr
Marcos Flohr is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Flohr&Erea, a leading security systems company since 1997. Under his leadership, Flohr&Erea successfully implemented the pioneering, large-scale traffic surveillance system in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mr. Flohr is also the principal executive of Cognitec Tecnologia e Sistemas de Segurança S/A, Cognitec's subsidiary in Brazil. He is a board member of Cognitec GmbH and is responsible for expanding the company's business in Latin America.
