Alfredo Herrera Hernandez
Alfredo Herrera has been the leading person in design and development of the facial recognition system FaceVACS. As a Principal Software Engineer at Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH, he participated in the development of neurocomputer software, OCR algorithms and, since 1995, facial recognition. Starting January 1998, as head of the biometrics development team at plettac electronics security GmbH, he was responsible for the ongoing development of the FaceVACS technology. On this basis he founded Cognitec in May 2002.

Dr. Juergen Pampus
Dr. Juergen Pampus held positions as a team leader and consultant at Control Data Corp. before joining the scientific computing department at Siemens AG and Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems AG where he was responsible for international sales. Here one of his successes was the market introduction and sales of neurocomputing products. At Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH, he started up the biometrics department in 1995. From January 1998, he was a sales director for biometric systems at plettac electronic security GmbH. He is a co-founder of Cognitec.

Dr. Juergen Richter
Dr. Juergen Richter started his professional career as a Scientific Assistant at the Technical University of Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz). From 1988 to 1996 he worked at the Klinikum Chemnitz GmbH hospital, where he was responsible for software development for radiation planning in the field of radio-oncology. In 1996, he joined the FaceVACS development team at Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH as a Senior Software Engineer (since 1998 plettac electronic security GmbH). He is a co-founder of Cognitec.
Director Algorithm Development
Frank Weber
Frank Weber has been one of the main developers of the algorithms forming the core of the facial recognition system FaceVACS. At GMD National Research Center for Information Technology, he worked in the field of artificial neural networks, applied to control tasks and optimal design of experiments. In 1996, he joined Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH and started working on the development of facial recognition algorithms. This work was continued when the team moved to plettac electronic security GmbH in January 1998. He is a co-founder of Cognitec.

Michael Müller
Michael Müller started his career in software development at the Dresden Frauenhofer Gesellschaft, Institute for Integrated Circuits. In 1995 he joined Siemens Nixdorf Advanced Technologies GmbH where he was working on the development of FaceVACS as one of the main software architects and developers. He is a co-founder of Cognitec.
Director Customer Services
Stefan Christ
In the 90s Stefan Christ worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the field of Electrical Engineering, as a Project Manager and Teacher in a training program sponsored by The European Social Fund (ESF) as well as a Scientific Assistant helping to build up an International Transfer Centre for Environmental Technology (KNOTEN WEIMAR). He held several positions in software development at Intershop SWE GmbH (e-commerce industries) and worked as a Software Development Manager. In 2003 Stefan joined Cognitec Systems GmbH. At present he holds the position of the Director of Customer Service and is responsible for customer service and project management of customer projects.

Roger Kelesoglu
Roger Kelesoglu joined Cognitec Systems Corporation in 2003 as Business Development Executive for North America, Canada and Mexico. He brings to Cognitec Systems his lifelong experience working for several high tech Fortune 500 companies in various business management positions, including Unisys, Hewlett Packard, Polaroid and Viisage. Mr. Kelesoglu also speaks several foreign languages and has held management positions in Europe, Latin America, the Far East and Middle East.
